Discover upcoming public holiday dates for Kosovo and start planning to make the most of your time off.

The Republic of Kosovo claimed its independence in February, 2008. Since its inception, the government, by national decree in Laws No. 03/L064, have created National Holidays. As nationally recognised holidays, all workers are entitled to receive the day off from work to participate in celebrations.

It should also be noted that under the laws governing holidays, the government has the right to change, add, or delete holidays each year. A list of official holidays and memorial days are published each year by the government.

If it is necessary to work due to critical conditions, such as maintaining utilities, the workers are entitled to receive full pay for their work or one and a half days off in compensation for their work. Any holiday that falls on a Saturday or Sunday will be recognized the following Monday with a day off.
