In Vatican City, All Saints’ Day is an annual observance dedicated to remembering, honouring, and being inspired by the lives of past saints who now stand in glory. On this day, a special address will be delivered in Saint Peter’s Cathedral, which many people from Italy and other countries attend.

All Saints’ Day is a day when many may receive a gift or special words of encouragement from others. Those whose name coincides with a Saint with his or her own holy day have their “name day” on that saint’s feast day, but everyone else’s name day is on All Saints’ Day.
Many people in Rome decorate the graves of the dearly departed on All Saints’ Day as well as 2 November, which is All Souls Day.
