Spring Bank Holiday 2025, 2026 and 2027 in Jersey
The Spring Bank Holiday has official public status on the Channel Isle of Jersey, just like in all of the United Kingdom. It is observed on the last Monday in May and, for that reason, is oftentimes referred to as Late May Bank Holiday. The existence of another bank holiday in early May also influences this alternate name for the holiday.

The Spring Bank Holiday was originally a replacement for Whit Monday, which followed Pentecost. The name was switched from Whit Monday to Spring Bank Holiday in 1967, but the date was not changed until four years later in 1971. The date-change was influenced by the tendency of the Whit-Monday date to interfere with school examinations.
Spring Bank Holiday creates a three-day weekend that many take advantage of for miniature vacations. It is also customary to do “spring cleaning” on this day, go on a walk in a park or other green location, attend street fairs, or visit relatives and friends. Many choose Jersey as an ideal place to spend the weekend and get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life.
