Christmas 2025, 2026 and 2027 in Andorra

Christmas in Andorra is celebrated with a public holiday every 25 December, as it is in a majority of countries around the world. This Christian festivity commemorates the birth of Jesus, and is part of a 22-28 day season in the Christian calendar known as Advent.

Midnight masses are a major event on Christmas Eve all over Andorra, a largely Roman Catholic country. The drama of awaiting the dawn of Christmas morning, when the Christ-child was born to Mary, captures the imagination and keeps this tradition strongly entrenched in Andorra.

People also head off to shop at the many highly decorated Christmas markets, view beautiful, elaborate, street-side nativity scenes, and attend concerts and fairs. Many also take time during Christmas break to engage in skiing and other winter sports in Andorra’s world-renown snowy peaks.
